Someone told me that my apathy is neither fresh nor hot. So I guess I’ll post something.

I don’t have much exciting or insightful to impart to you. I’ve been pretty busy the last few weeks. I’ve been working on a big install for Rider University. They’ve built a new Student Recreation Center and we put in the paging and background music systems as well as a few anciallary systems (Aerobics Room, Game Room, etc). It was a big job, and in the end it turned out even better than I had hoped. I guess, as I told M-D the other day, we just have to stop at some point and accept that we’re better at what we do than we think we are. I’m probably my harshest critic, but I guess I’m just starting to get better at what I do and so I need to start trusting my decisions. I DID design this system to work exactly the way it worked in the end, but I also questioned myself the whole way through and was nervous that it would not sound good right up until the time I turned it on. To say that I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. I tried not to express my surprise to the client because, of course, I want them to think that it was all planned this way from the beginning. Which it was, of course, but I really didn’t expect it to turn out as well as it did.

So, I guess the point is, I’m happy. I’m satisfied with a job well done. I suppose I can take a little bit of pride in that.
