Y’know what’s kinda cool? Looking at your account register in a program like Microsoft Money, and seeing the credit card account that you transferred balances to back in 2001, and seeing how that $10,000 balance from 2001 is now a $280 balance and knowing that next month it will be completely paid off. Gives you a certain sense of satisfaction…..
A Quick Review of “Sahara”:

I normally try not to be too critical of books that are translated into movies. I know that changes and cuts often need to be made in order to make the book work on screen. When I read this book, it struck me how much it read like a movie script. Shortly before I finished reading it, I heard that there was a movie being made of it. I thought that they couldn’t possibly mess it up too much since it already read like a movie. So, how did this book fare in its translation to the screen?
At least they kept the names of the characters (that they used) the same.
Apparently my comment counters are broken. Can someone who knows something about that fix it? I’m not even sure who’s maintaining this site these days…. 
Last week, regular unleaded gasoline had reached $1.99 per gallon at the station near my house. By this past Wednesday it was up to $2.05. When Ali and I passed the station on our way to the movies last night at 9:30, it was up to $2.09. When we passed by on our way home a few hours later, it was $2.15.
Why is this not being treated as a national crisis? Why is Congress holding hearings about things like Terry Schaivo and steroid use in baseball and not this? What are we supposed to do about this?
