I’m reading Entertainment Weekly’s “Must List” (which I have all sorts of disagreements with, but that’s not the point) and I come across something I find incredibly bizarre in the listing for #74, Will Ferrell (who they call “everyone’s favorite SNL alum” and with which I strongly disagree because I think he sucks). Apparently, Ferrell is scheduled to appear in “the film adaptation of Broadway’s The Producers.”

Wait. What? A film adapation of “Broadway’s The Producers? Ummm…shouldn’t that be “a film adaptation of Broadway’s adaptation of the film The Producers“? What the hell are these people doing?!?!?!?

Folks, you know I’m not generally a politically minded person. But I am going to take this time to encourage each and every one of you to go see Fahrenheit 9/11. Yes, it’s a typical Michael Moore film with all the Michael Moore slant you could ever want. But Michael Moore himself has said that this film is not fair. It is facts presented with his opinion. The bottom line, however, is that he is at least making a point.

I’m sad to say that I am one of many, many Americans of voting age who is not registered to vote. I think that this year I will probably register, and not because I particularly want Kerry to win, but simply because I want Bush to not win. It’s sad that it’s come to that, but I guess that’s the choice we’re left with. Bush, or not Bush. Me? I choose not Bush.

I was surprised at the number of people in the theater tonight. Most of the showings were sold out. And a very large portion of the audience were teenagers. I was very surprised by this. I did not expect teenagers to be interested in a film of this nature. Now, while these kids can’t vote, I can hope that seeing a film like this will inspire them, unlike my generation, to actually do something and to take an active part in changing their society. It’s too late for my generation. For the most part, we’re apathetic, disillusioned, and we just don’t care. Maybe it’s not too late for them. I was impressed to see these teenagers with their attention completely fixed during this film, and to see them give a standing ovation when it was over. It gives me a bit of hope.

So I encourage you all to see the movie, and I encourage you to tell friends to see it. Even if you disagree with it, I think it’s something that needs to be seen if for no other reason than to spark discussion and debate and really get us thinking about what’s going on in our world.

Continuing on yesterday’s theme….

I went to this site today to look up some information on some equipment. And what do I see but my own face?!? I mean, sure, they are the company that issued the press release, so it makes sense for them to put it on their own site, but it’s just odd when you go to a web site to look something up and, not expecting it, find your own face on the front page of the site.

Courteney Cox-Arquette apparently just named her baby daughter Cocoa. Now, I could go either way on a name like that, but…Cocoa Cox? Doesn’t anyone THINK before they name their children?

While it is sad that Ronald Reagan died, his funeral is taking away from the real tragedy that happened yesterday. Ray Charles died. :( Ronald Reagan may have been a great man (I’m not really old enough to be sure), but there’s no question about the wonderful things that Ray Charles did for the world.

It’s working. Although the ultimate goal of my shift in eating and addition of exercise was not a loss of weight, I am now 7 pounds lighter than I was when we returned from our trip. I wouldn’t say that I’ve seen a really significant change in the way I’m living, either. I mean, I’m not eating fast food and I cut out soda, and added some exercise. It’s not that tough, really! :)

Since I haven’t gone to sleep, yet, the day isn’t officially over. Therefore, I’d like to wish a Happy Birthday to one of the best people I know. I’ve known her longer than I’ve known anyone else who isn’t family. She’s always been there for me, and I know I’ll happily always be there for her.

I’d say more, but I’m tired and my command of the English language is becomming somewhat limited and besides, she knows how cool she is. :) Happy Birthday, Stacey!

Ali normally sings to Cindi when she puts her to bed. She has this little stuffed Pooh thing that plays this song and there’s lyrics at the beginning and Ali usually sings along.

Ali was on the phone tonight when it was time for Cindi to go to sleep. I couldn’t just let her to go sleep without the song. So….I sang. I didn’t sing well. I told Cindi it wasn’t going to be good, but she made me do it, anyway. She listened very politely. She stared at me the whole time and didn’t cry or anything. Kids are weird…

Wait. Let me get this straight. They’re replacing Wayne Brady with Tony Danza?
