Why does my mail server suck so much? I can’t even begin to tell you how often I cannot connect to the mail server, even though my connection to the Internet is just fine……grumble.
The Pimp Van:
So, I finally went out today and bought a new van. Well, I shouldn’t say new…it’s new to me. It’s a 1997. Now, when I went out this morning, I was hoping to find a Chevy AstroVan. No such luck. But I found a GMC Safari, which is basically the exact same thing (I think it’s like a Mercury/Ford kind of deal). Anyway, I was limited by my requirements….I wanted a passenger van, but I needed a lot of cargo space. So I found this Safari. Now, I wasn’t looking for what I found, but what I found ended up being really cool. First of all, it’s a conversion van. It’s got all leather interior, with all this fancy wood-grain work on the dashboard and railings in the back. Here’s where it gets interesting….
It has a TV and VCR in it. Not too uncommon, I suppose. It’s got an extra stereo in the back…I haven’t quite figured out why, yet. But it’s basically like a little shelf stereo system, only it’s installed into the back of the van. You can apparently put something on back there, and listen to something different in the back of the van from the front of the van.
But here’s the most pimp-like feature of them all…..it has vanity lights throughout the back of the interior. What do I mean by that? Well, you know how there are those rope lights on the inside of limos? Like the kind they have in the floor in the aisle of the movie-theater? It’s got those. And the controls are up in a console above the dashboard. It’s such a pimp van. I’m pretty sure it must have been owned by a drug dealer or something…:) But it’s awesome, and it’s mine, and I love it.
So, in answer to M-D’s question, we went to see Sugar and Spice. Now, some people may say, “Oh, that’s a chick film.” But I say, “CHEERLEADERS!!!!!!”
But I had no idea that the guy in that movie was the same guy who played Cyclops in the X-Men….who knew?
Yes! BlogVoices is back! You can start commenting again (and please do…that’s the best part of having a weblog…)
So, I was at the movies last night, and they showed a preview for the Lord of the Rings movies. I was so incredibly psyched. These look like they might be the three best movies ever made…and that’s a lot, ’cause that means they’d beat out the Star Wars movies. Whoa.
For those of you who are Sound Forge users, Sonic Foundry has released the public beta version of Sound Forge 5.0. It’s a free download, so go get it before they take it away.
Harlan has pointed out that Blogger has taken over Blogvoices, so the discussions should be back up and running soon. So keep trying to comment…’kay?
So, I took this link from Beth, who apparently got it from someone else, but I think it needs to be spread throughout the universe. This is truly wonderful…..Try it out. And visit Beth’s weblog while you’re at it…she’s a good person.
It amuses me when people are stupid and think they can threaten you for whatever reason. I have now officially been told by my ex-employer about his intentions to sue me….
See, the thing is, I really do feel like work is a waste of my time. I don’t mean WORKING, I mean work. Working for someone else, basically. There are so many things that I want to do and things that I need to do, and ways that my time could be better spent, and I can’t do most of those things because I’m at work. And what’s the point? Why am I at work? Only so I can make money so that I can pay the bills. But meanwhile, the important things are getting neglected. See, I spend my entire day at work waiting for the day to end. It’s not like I hate my job or anything, but I don’t particularly like it, and it’s never going to advance me to where I want to be. There’s no point in it except to pay the bills. It’s unfortunate that we’ve created this society that forces us to not be able to live our lives, because we’re so busy just surviving. We’ve made all of these technological advancements to make survival easier…to take us out of the jungle, so to speak, and yet we’re forced to have less time and to be able to live our lives less. It’s bothersome, because I know what I want to do with my life, but I can’t spend time getting there because I have to work all day. So what might have taken me a year to achieve, will take me five years instead because I have to work on it on such a part time basis.
Grumble…..
